The purpose of the Pinellas Park Mounted Patrol Unit is to provide he police department a specilized resource of expertise in equestrian services to assist the police in providing superior service to the citizens of Pinellas Park. Officers assigned to the mounted unit will utilize horses for patrol purposes. They project a positive image to the community and are a valuable resource in crowd control and public safety. The mounted unit  is comprised of both sworn officers and volunteers. Civilian members play a vital role in crime prevention and education in public safety. This combination makes the Pinellas Park unit an intergral part of the community.
